FUNCTIONS

 Establish working relationships with the different ministries engaged in the field of the DRR, Disaster Response, and Civil Protection, and promote the work of the Division:

  1. Participate in initial briefing sessions, presenting the Division work and identify axes for collaboration,
  2. Develop a network of key technical focal points within the ministries, 
  3. Provide regular updates of the Division work to the different stakeholders (quarterly)
  4. In collaboration with the 3P partners, ensure that regular communication is done, presenting the different achievements of the consortium; Act as a focal point to organize the advocacy message from the Division, covering the aspects of Risk Reduction

 2. Support the establishment of a Disaster Risk Reduction Multistakeholder platform or any other national coordination mechanisms

 In collaboration with the other divisions, support the establishment of the platform Term of Reference ;

  1. Ensure engagement of the different identified counterparts to participate in the platform (regular meetings and discussions)
  2. Creation of a network of program stakeholders 
  3. Animate the network via regular meetings, newsletters, and technical updates,
  4. Organize the Division multistakeholder meetings, and support the facilitation of the events (agenda, invitation, logistic arrangement),
  5. Produce meetings minutes and act as a secretary for the DRR WG/Platform

 3.  Civil Protection/Disaster Risk Reduction Monitoring  

Regular monitoring of resource centers, official websites and assessments conducted by local authorities or other NGOs in the Disaster Risk Reduction/Civil Protection 

 5. Participate in the organization of the Division Conference 

  1. Support the definition of the Scope of the conference.
  2. Engage Stakeholders to participate in the event. 
  3. Facilitate the organization of the Conference. 
  4. Coordinate with Division stakeholders 

 6. Engage with and disseminating information to authorities and partners (via newsletters, official communication, etc…)

 1. Identify new stakeholders and building partnerships through regular engagement with those entities, as well as ensuring adequate liaison with all external partners, especially local authorities, 

2. Prepare and conducting presentations on the Division activities and products during meetings with partners and stakeholders 

3. Coordinate an efficient communication of the team with the stakeholders through official letters, emails, and phone calls, organizing meetings, following up with authorities.

 7. Any other tasks as requested by the Country Coordinator and Country Programme Coordinator


REQUIREMENTS

  1. University-level education in social sciences, political sciences, research, or relevant field
  2. Previous experience in research, data collection, secondary data review, analysis
  3. Excellent knowledge of sources of secondary data (state statistics)
  4. Excellent computer skills especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  5. Teamwork and working in a multicultural environment
  6. Excellent English writing and speaking skills
  7. Fluency in Ukrainian
  8. Excellent presentation skills
  9. At least 2 years of experience in working with local authorities and NGOs in a humanitarian context
  10. Prior knowledge of the region 
  11. Available for travel to the settlements located within 5 km of the contact line
  12. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
  13. Willingness to travel to other ACTED/IMPACT field offices
