DESCRIPTION

The Finance Process Excellence (FPE) Team is looking for a new senior member who will focus on business process improvements and control enhancements within Corporate Finance / the Controller’s Group. This role is expected to drive Finance projects and, at times, independently represent Finance stakeholders in cross-functional projects. The position reports to our Manager, Finance Process Excellence and works closely with several other team members and departments within Corporate Finance including Shared Services, Controllers, and other Centers of Excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Gain understanding of:
- EPAM Finance processes, controls, systems and applications, organization
- EPAM Finance initiatives, continuous improvement goals, overall strategic objectives
- EPAM Corporate Functions organization and cross-functional dependencies
Lead projects related to business process / financial cycle improvements that align with Management’s strategic goals for efficient and well-controlled finance operations, including:
- Project management activities such as defining project roles, stakeholders, scope, execution plan, known dependencies, risk mitigation procedures, measures of success
- Project management and Business analysis activities such as driving discovery phases, engaging various process owners and stakeholder, end-to-end process analysis, collecting requirements, proposing solutions and collecting proposals from others, assist in obtaining stakeholder/leadership buy-in, etc.
- Finance stakeholder representation in cross-functional projects
Provide assistance to control owners in risk assessment and design of internal control environment / activities to ensure compliance with corporate and statutory requirements
Evaluate proposed changes in business processes for risk exposure / mitigation and control implications, and identify / consult with relevant stakeholders (including audit, as needed) to finalize
Create and maintain process/requirements/other documentation, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

English language skills - fluent (advanced or above)
Degree in Finance or Accounting
5-7 years total experience, incl. at least 3 years in international accounting and/or auditor positions
Knowledge of business processes and financial cycles, internal controls/compliance, international accounting (IFRS)/US GAAP
Working knowledge and understanding of financial compliance, risk management, internal controls and audit methodologies (previous audit and/or SOX experience preferred)
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; ability to own and independently lead projects; set scope and project team, enforce project roles, oversee progress, identify/prioritize/communicate issues, distil action plans and track their resolution
Working knowledge and understanding of various business, operational and financial systems including but not limited to: ERP systems (preferably SAP), reconciliation and consolidation tools, task management applications, and other business and financial applications (i.e., contract management, CRM, cost tracking, budget/forecasting, etc.)
Strong communication skills; ability to interact seamlessly with various levels of management and cross-functional stakeholders
