Senior Project Manager

The client works in the education industry providing a robust set of tools for scheduling to universities and colleges around the world. The client has recently started restructuring their IT department which was the starting point for our relationship. We are the only outsourcing vendor involved with them and provide most of their resources. The rest are inhouse staff.

Being a Senior Project Manager you will have an opportunity to build processes from scratch and bring order to the client’s operation in the middle of a large transition. You will be supported from an existing team of BAs and a Technical Team Lead. The current relationship with the client is very positive and trusting, advice is almost always taken on board.

We expect to have a team of 10-15 PHP and React developers, 5 QA specialists and 2-3 BAs by early Q1 2022 with a potential further expansion later in the year.

TECHNOLOGY STACK & INFRASTRUCTURE: PHP back-end with a React front-end hosted on VMs in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Managing the entire software development team including the client’s inhouse resources
• Setting and overseeing an Agile development methodology with assistance from a Technical Team Leader
• Taking part in and sometimes determining communication channels within the team as well as between the IT department and internal stakeholders such as Sales and Customer Support
• Producing and reporting performance metrics to senior stakeholders
• Mentoring the team and striving for excellence in project delivery
• Enabling communications and information exchange with other teams
• Human resource management skills: motivation, evaluation, conflict resolution
• Providing project status visibility to the team and stakeholders at various levels
• Client expectation and satisfaction management
• Staffing activities for the supervised Teams
• Good communication skills, experience working with Clients
• Decent English level (Upper-intermediate or higher)

Required Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of management experience leading & supervising several teams on a high-level
• History of defining team mission & executing deliverables on time
• Experience in driving & mentoring several teams at the same time
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• A bias to action & ability to motivate a team 

Additional Competencies

• Experience in analyzing project risks and pitfalls, recommending solutions
• Technical experience in any IT areas (QA/Dev/BA)
