Background:
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech international non-governmental organization, that is present in more than 20 countries has been active in Ukraine since 2014, and the humanitarian programs have been rapidly expanding since then. Currently, PIN is one of the major humanitarian actors in Eastern Ukraine while providing neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian aid to conflict-affected people.

General information about the role of the person
The Area Managers primary responsibility is to lead the implementation of the project in the field. The AM ensures daily management of the team of Field teams working directly with displaced people, host communities and social institutions. S/he is expected to continually inform the Regional Director about projects' progress and changing conditions in the field.
Specific duties and responsibilities
Representation, coordination, and reporting:
- Primary PIN representative in the area of operation and attend all relevant fora/meetings in order to strengthen PIN’s position.
- Foster relationships with Government authorities and civil society in the area of operation.
- Maintain close working relationships with donors, national and international organizations and local counterparts at the zonal level.
- Comply with internal reporting requirements, contribute to, and provide quality assurance of external reports from the area of operation.
Programme development:
- With the close cooperation of the Region Director and programme staff, support the process of adapting PIN national strategy to the local context and circumstances
- Provide regular analysis on the context and humanitarian situation in the area for the development of projects, proposals and safety assessments in cooperation with other AMs.
- Contribute and input in PIN national strategy development:
- Accountable for achieving PIN’s strategic goals and objectives within the area of responsibility, making significant decisions on what the unit does: its purpose, functions and role, and for making commitments and decisions that require the expenditure of significant unit resources.
Required background and competences:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- At least 5 years in managing teams and projects in emergency
- Knowledgeable in humanitarian works and deep understanding of the context.
- Solid leadership skills.
- Highly organized, excellent communications skills
