ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Psychological Interventions and Case Management:
- Provide individual psychological interventions, including short-term consultations to help beneficiaries cope with adversity.
- Implementation of structured psychological interventions in-line with evidence-based practices, IASC MHPSS and other international guidelines.
- Provide primary or secondary support and individual case management services to vulnerable adults and children.
- Provide guidance and support to MHPSS Caseworkers managing PSS caseloads.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of informational materials and media messages on psychosocial well-being, (eg coping with distress and helping others) and child protection.
Coordination and System Strengthening:
- Work cohesively with MHPSS team, other IMC program team, communities, and identified community figures to ensure activities meet IASC guideline standards and are implemented with safety and sustainability.
- Support in strengthening links and referral mechanisms for mental health and psychosocial support services and activities.
- Assist in covering gaps, developing or strengthening referral pathways mechanisms, and support case management for MHPSS support services in accordance with the IMC MHPSS approach.
Psychosocial Activities
- Conduct/participate in psychosocial needs assessments consistent with IASC (2013) and WHO/UNHCR (2012) Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Needs Assessment Guidelines.
- Organize, co-facilitate, and monitor psychosocial activities for children and youth, parents, adult women and older persons at community-based safe spaces.
- Identify communities with psychosocial needs and make recommendations for the provision of psychosocial activities in priority locations.
- Disseminate information at the community level about the purpose and importance of psychosocial activities and support.
- Disseminate information about psychological wellbeing (including stress management, positive coping and self-care within target communities.
Capacity Building and Training:
- Support adaptation and delivery of MHPSS related knowledge and skill-based workshops on training for MHPSS Working Group partners, focal, state, (l) NGOs partners, IMC staff and others working with vulnerable populations, including provision of support groups, and communication approaches with children an-d adults, as needed.
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of community outreach workers among the IDP and host communities.
- Assist in the development of capacity building plans for community outreach workers to provide them with critical skills around psychosocial support and emotional/mental well-being.
- Provide on the job support to case workers as needed.
Reporting:
- Contribute to regular reports including participation in writing case studies, success stories, review and analysis of IMC Ukraine PSS curriculum implementation and other related psychological interventions within MHPSS programming.
- Regularly document outreach and community mobilization activities using agreed tools to highlight key protection and safety concerns affecting women and girls.
- Support tracking of beneficiaries using agreed M&E tools.
- Maintain updated case management records and participate in routine supervision support sessions.
- Participate in routine reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management, and reporting requirements are followed.
- Support the maintenance of the IMC case management systems

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- University degree in psychology.
- Demonstrated work experience in psychology or the field of MHPSS.
- Experience in implementing group work with children, youth, and adults.
- Experience identifying vulnerable populations or individuals needing additional support.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times essential.
- Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Experience providing clinical insight for case workers.
- Experience in facilitation of trainings, workshops, and other knowledge-skill sharing activities related to psychology or MHPSS.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred:
- INGO or NGO experience.
- Experience working with IDP population.
- Experience in writing brief narrative reports.
- Experience working in humanitarian response.
