MISSION
MdM has been operating in Ukraine since August 2015 and is currently implementing an emergency response and recovery program in the Eastern part of Ukraine (Luhansk region (2015) Donetsk region (2019)). The program is implemented around two main components: direct delivery of services through multidisciplinary mobile units (including PHC, SRH, MHPSS and support to GBV survivors); strengthening of local health system (with a specific focus on PHC, SRH, MHPSS and GBV) through capacity building of health and non-health staff, awareness raising and advocacy.
GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE OF INTERVENTION:
The psychologist MdM will be offered to provide psychological assistance in the Dnipro region and the Dnipro; also in cases when the staff psychologist of the Mobile Clinic is unable to perform his duties due to leave or sick leave of more than three days to replace him in the Mobile Unit; replacement is needed to ensure the continued provision of MHPSS services in places accessible to MdM.
ORGANIZATION CHART
The candidate will be administratively reporting to MH Manager. He / She will have direct technical link with MHPSS Manager in a given base. Individual supervisions will be provided upon request by the external supervisor.
JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision and technical supervision from MHPSS Manager, the Psychologist is responsible for
- Providing quality MHPSS care (individual consultations; group sessions; brief sessions) for clients, including MHPSS support to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and cases referred by other Mobile Unit members
- Conducting sessions in communities where the Mobile Unit works that raise awareness and increase knowledge on MHPSS and GBV MdM’s MHPSS guidelines and standards
- Participate in and support other MdM MHPSS activities per request
- Undergo technical induction and training by MdM prior to the start of operations
FUNCTIONSProvision of quality MHPSS care
- To provide quality MHPSS care for clients, including
- Providing individual and group session to clients as needed
- Coordinating and following up with patients identified by other Mobile Unit members as requiring psychological support
- Making referrals according the national and MdM guidelines, including to other Mobile Unit members to support other medical needs of patients
- Provide psychological support and follow up to victims of sexual and gender-based and violence
Awareness Raising
- To organize and conduct awareness sessions for communities on GBV and MHPSS issues, including
- Delivering MHPSS awareness raising sessions in accordance with the planned topics and schedule in line with MdM’s MHPSS guidelines and standards
OTHERS:
- To abide by MdM norms, principles and code of conduct
- To be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries receive quality services
- To maintain good socio-professional relationships with national and international partners
- To be able to allocate time to replace the existing MU Psychologist on ad hoc basis within short notice
- To be available for internal induction sessions and trainings organized by MdM To perform other additional duties on request of the MH Manager, MHPSS Technical Leading Specialist, Mental Health Coordinator and Field Coordinator

TECHNICAL & LOGISTICS SUPPORT FROM MDM
The successful candidate is to receive technical briefing facilitated by MHPSS Managers and/or MHPSS Technical Leading specialist, including: M&E and reporting, team introduction, debriefing of cases from the MdM psychologist on leave. Other briefings include HR (MdM code of conduct) and Security. .

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Academic background: A Degree in Psychology
REQUIREMENTS:
Language requirements:
- Advanced Russian and Ukrainian speaking skills
- English is a great asset
Computer requirements: Competency in MS Word and Excel
EXPERIENCE:
A successful candidate must have:
- At least 2 years of clinical mental health experience: direct provision of mental health services through local health facilities; emergency response
- at least one year of work in the field of humanitarian organizations;
- have knowledge and experience in the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy in psychological counseling
- Expertise and experience in providing first aid and support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence.
- Knowledge of international best practices and evidence-based standards and approaches
- Experience working in humanitarian emergencies is an advantage
