The Opportunity

We are looking for an expert with a proven ability in delivering winning, multi-million product or services opportunities. In this role, you will have a chance to establish and own an end-to-end bidding process for RFPs, working closely with various Star stakeholders and customers. You will identify opportunities for bid submissions, develop bid-winning strategies, contribute to writing stellar proposals, including value prop development, negotiate with stakeholders, support commercial discussions and much more. You will be working with various Star team members, from commercial stakeholders to delivery, legal and management. Does this role sound like a perfect match? Read on.

The ideal candidate has a background in solution selling and must have bid management experience from opportunity identification through legal negotiations. Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable working at CEO / VP Level (internal and external customers). We are looking for a person with sound commercial understanding, profit and loss experience, risk management skills and competitive positioning.  You should also be familiar with client relationship strategy and financial modeling.

This role is highly networked, which requires working under pressure and meeting challenging deadlines. It also requires strong people management and commercial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a sound and efficient bidding process including governance, templates, best practices and drive continuous improvements through post-bid reviews;
  • Manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities;
  • Work with the commercial lead to develop a clear, winning strategy for each bid and ensure win themes are clear and compelling;
  • Understand and resolve complex strategic and business issues related to the bid;
  • Contributing to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation (such as providing guidance around the executive summary, challenging/verifying pricing and profitability);
  • Ensure timescales are achieved at each step of the bid process, including all internal governance, while setting realistic deadlines;
  • Ensure on-time submission of compliant and commercially sound bids;
  • Coordinate and orchestrate all client presentations required as part of the bid submission;
  • Create a knowledge base of winning bids including approaches, strategies and best practices;
  • Develop a toolbox required for winning bids (policies, templates, storytelling samples, pricing tools etc).

Qualifications

Must have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a bid manager or similar role is a must;
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Development, Design, Sales and Support Teams;
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines; committed to excellence;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Nice to have:

  • Finance background;
  • A sound understanding of the industry;
  • Able to communicate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
