MEDICAL DOCTOR FOR SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH ACTIVITY (SRH)
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of origin, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF is a civil society initiative that brings together individuals committed to the assistance of other human beings in crisis. As such MSF is by choice an association. Each individual working with MSF does it out of conviction and is ready to uphold the values and principles of MSF.
We are urgently looking for Medical Doctor for SRH activity, flexible and ready to work in different areas.
Main tasks:
- Provide full package of medical care to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence, according to MSF guidelines and protocols.
- Provide safe abortion care on request, as per MSF protocols.
- Provide first psychological aid.
- Answer the medical hotline (24/7), provide phone consultations to survivors and offer home delivery of medications or home visit, respecting the wish of the survivor.
- Ensure the survivor receives the medication prescribed, timely and discreetly.
- Follow at all times survivor-centered principles: respect, privacy, confidentiality, non-discrimination and informed consent.
- Document, collect and support in the analysis of data related to the SV program.
- Collaborate with the existing network of social services (NGOs) in Dnipro, supporting them in the provision of comprehensive care for survivors of SV/IPV.
- Deliver awareness sessions and SRH education to vulnerable groups and key populations, on request. Mobile, based on needs: shelters, cultural centers, schools, events etc.
- Deliver trainings and sensitization about SV/IPV to MSF staff, on request.
- Deliver trainings and sensitization about SV/IPV to MOH staff (family doctors, PHC staff, ER), on request.
- Brief all the new medical staff in the project about SV program — regularly.
- Collaborate with other local actors and stakeholders providing SV services, to ensure quality referrals are available and offered to all survivors.
- Collaborate with PMR/MedCo on advocacy strategy related to Sexual Violence, if requested.
- Ensure all medications and supplies are available as per MSF standards, regularly ordering pharmacy items through the PMR.
- Proactively work on the visibility of the service, promoting it through different channels (to be agreed with PMR).
Requirements: Medical diploma recognized by the state essential for the position.
Experience: Previous working as Medical Doctor experience required and desirable experience in Sexual Reproductive Health.
Languages: Ukrainian; English will be considered a plus.
Conditions: short-term contract, Organisation’s compensations and benefits package including medical coverage. The person will work in Dnipro and nearby areas, with possible movements to the east of Ukraine, for short periods or time for specific training needs/support requested;
Starting date: as soon as possible, recruitment process on-going.
