Bayer Ltd, a leading multinational company, is opening a  position of Head of Supply Chain and Customer Service 

 Major tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Develops and leads a high performing SCM and O2C team focused on meeting the business goals, ensuring high customer satisfaction, improving processes, as well as driving and supporting talent management and development locally and regionally.
  • Drives the establishment of seamless collaboration between the teams performing the local execution directly in the country or group of countries and the teams operating out of the SSCDN or external BPO provider in order to act as one virtual team together with the corresponding operational manager in the SSCDN or BPO provider (where applicable).
  • Manages assigned budgets for local SCM and O2C and ensures proper budget performance and alignment.
  • Acts as SCM and O2C representative in the assigned country or group of countries and key contact for all SCM and O2C related topics for Commercial Operations, the Regional SCM Head, the global O2C community and if applicable the country group business management team.
  • Assures execution of global and regional SCM and O2C strategy, policy, systems, tools, processes and defined escalation paths into the associated organization considering divisional guidance and best practices.
  • Responsible for the local country S&OP process and collaboration with divisional CDH’s in regard to Planning, Portfolio Management, Supply Performance, Long Term Planning, Lifecycle/Change Management, Launches, Bottleneck Coordination and Risk Management topics.
  • Accountable for Warehousing and Distribution activities in country and/or group of countries, ensuring compliance to relevant standards, operational performance as well as cost optimization.
  • Ensure applicable commercial conditions (according to local Commercial Policy), local norms and laws are implemented and followed by O2C team and deliveries follow-up according to prioritization rules.
  • Implement global SCM and O2C processes, take ownership of local SCM and O2C processes and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Manage local process exceptions in line with global guidance (e.g. exceptions from credit policy as stated in MARGOs 1367 or 699).
  • Manage exceptions to local policies with divisional stakeholders to ensure compliance and adherence to legal requirements (e.g. exceptions to commercial policy).
  • Foster the establishment of a strong customer focus mindset in the teams with the overall goal of customer satisfaction.
  • Supports the performance management and drives corrective initiatives of the SCM and O2C team in close collaboration with the regional / global management.
  • Overall accountable for supply chain execution performance (managed directly or indirectly), measured by main KPI such as c-OTIF, FCA/FVE and inventory related targets.
  • Driving implementation and improving effectiveness of global O2C tools, guidelines and processes.
  • Guide and monitor efficient and effective O2C operations for the country/country group according to globally defined KPI either performed locally, SSCDN or third parties.
  • Manage and improve quality standards, manage daily service operations projects, responding to service demands and take appropriate action to resolve.
  • Ensure efficiency and reduction of complexity by standardization and the use of best practices in service delivery based on global framework.

 Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor, but preferably a university degree or equivalent, especially with main focus on Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Operations. Alternatively, an equivalent progressive working experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of operational experience on supply chain processes and customer services and/or finance and credit management.
  • Leadership and management experience (minimum of 5 years) with focus on managing operational teams.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, solid management skills as well as a solution-oriented mindset with international and interdisciplinary teams and being an excellent networker
  • Proven experience with leading major projects and developing strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, the O2C community and customers.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, MS Office and SAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills & attitude and ability to interface at senior level with third parties/ development partners
  • Proven ability to manage staff effectively in a global organization, energizing and enabling teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Ability to embrace and drive change and be able to work in a changing environment
  • Fluent English skills both in the spoken and written form, plus local/regional language requirements.
